Is there another Software besides Macrium Reflect?

    Hi, everyone,
I' ve thinking of Genie Backup Manager , they say it is the easiest interface for a novice I am (I will use some software as soon as Microsoft will finish the updates on Windows 7 in next january).
It is OK Macrium Reflect is the dearest here, but it seems to have a learning curve (and I am afraid of learning curves)

Take a look at Aomei. I think the full name of the product you would need is Aomei Backupper.

AOMEI Backupper - Data Backup and Restore Software for PC, Laptop and Server

I've looked at it, but never installed or used it.

Macrium does have a learning curve, but works quite well if you just use the default settings.

    Basic steps for Macrium:

    Install the software
Make "rescue media" on a USB flash drive from within Macrium, using the menus
Confirm the rescue media will actually boot your PC.
Make a full image file of all partitions on your hard drive. This creates one file with a .mrimg extension. Save it on some other drive.
If and when disaster strikes, boot from your rescue media and direct Macrium to restore that image file to a known good hard drive.

Reflect is brilliant but steer clear of poorly engineered and supported Acronis backup products (this includes rebadged data transfer tools supplied with many disk drives)

Macrium Reflect is the best, and it`s very, very easy to learn and use

You can even put a Macrium Boot screen on your PC, you don`t even need to use any rescue media, it`s awesome.

Not saying you shouldn`t make rescue media, I have a USB stick, but using the boot screen is incredibly easy.

I tried various free ones for just a simple HDD image. They would all do the job of making an Image, but it was other factors that fell down.

The notes are as follows, which is not up to date.
    1. Easeus ToDo
Bootable rescue CD/USB does not work, too many items in Startup.
    2. Aomei
Linux boot discs don't work, can't browse files within image.
    3. Paragon free
Tricky to use, easy to make a mistake, leaves junk when uninstalled.
    4. Acronis WD Ed
Cannot install despite having a WD drive in the system, useless. Hardware limited.

Of course all these may have been updated or may not be available now, but I did actually use them with the minimal features required. No paid for versions were used.

    I settled on using:
    5. Macrium Reflect free, but that was not easy to use at first, but it has gotten better.
Still occasional problems with Boot/rescue media, Windows PE/RE based ones, both the CD/USB Rescue Media, part of that I guess is the PC/Laptops concerned.

It really is what works reliably for you with your hardware, not my opinion, suggest you try them out yourself, that is what I did.
If you want a paid for version with more facilities, then it is still worthwhile to see if the basics work.

[QUOTE = Steve C; 1681127] O Refletir E Brilhante, mas Evite Produtos de Cópia de Segurança Acronis mal Projetados e suportados (ISSO inclui Ferramentas de Transferência de Dados rebatíveis fornecidas com MUITOS dirige de disco) [/ QUOTE]
AddRAM, thank you, but remember I am a too much novice. obrigado! There are some sites over there that mention a learning curve withseveral steps on Macrium for making a image backup and restore, otherd says it is easy. AOMEI maybe is easy, but there are sites that see problems on AOMEI. GENIE seems the easisest, although not good speed, peformance. Until december, I will choose.

The Macrium Free is still your best bet. Agree it has a bit of a learning curve, but worth the indulgence to learn it. Once you have it under your belt, you won't switch.
