I was dual booting with Kubuntu Linux and decided to erase Kubuntu and leave my PC Windows only. Erased the Linux partition to then restore the boot manager but to my surprise, the Bootrec command says Access denied.I get the Grub terminal and can boot Windows by typing exit. I would like to have a clean Windows boot process.Code:Bootrec /fixBoot

1) Backup Windows partition with Macrium Free
2) Use another computer or recovery disk to get into command mode --Diskpart, list disk, select disk xx, clean, convert gpt, create partition efi size=100, create partition primary, list partition, select partition xx format fs=ntfs quick
3) With the macrium restore the Windows system only (not the boot / recovery etc)
4) now from the Macrium recovery choose fix windows boot problems
5) should all now work with just Windows.

I'm not even sure if you need to format the efi partition as I think the Macrium "Fix boot problems" should take care of that -- however the other partition should be formatted preferably with NTFS. It's no point these days using MBR HDD's as you have the 4 physical partition limit, the 2TB size thing and once you get into the realm of that horror known as "Logical Partitions" - well sometimes I think even a PhD in Computer science from somewhere prestigious as M.I.T or Caltech wouldn't be enough to fix things !!

TY everyone for your suggestions, I solved the problem by setting my bios to the windows boot loader. I saw this setting while updating my BIOS.
