if you already have the standard backupper, try entering the code and if it is within whatever is the time frame it will convert to pro.

Problem with a lifetime licence but no updates is basically same issue that are making some Macrium Reflect Free users consider other options. The same will eventually apply to Home users when V9 of Macrium Reflect comes out.

The only AOMEI Pro feature that sets it aside from other tools is its syncing capability but there are many syncing tools around anyway.

Other than that, I cannot really see point of it. I actually have a 1 year licence with updates, and like Macrium Reflect, it is valid for updates until next major release.

However, the one year free licence is a marketing exercise, based on the time honoured principle that very few move to other tools once they are familiar and confident with a tool.

In simple terms, if you want long term support, you have to pay for it one way or another.

It's a business, and they can't get rich just giving it away.

I was wondering yesterday: Is this a China-based company?

My research today says that it was founded in China, moved to Hong Kong, and now has a headquarters in the US. I'm not really concerned about using Chinese software -- I use Made-in-China electronics hardware all over my home. I was just curious.
