How to configure Daily System Restore Point in windows 10?

    Hello,

I deleted today (by error) a file in the office. We use Windows 10 in every PC. How should I configure a Daily Restore Point System in Windows 10, to be sure we can get back those deleted items please?. I will appreciate any help, thank you

What kind of items are you talking about ? IE System files, user files and folders ? For immediate recovery of user files, the best solution in W10 is "File History". You can name what folders you want it to backup, and if a change occurs to a given file its backup. Then by mistake its deleted, you can recover that file from the File History. Since its occurring "Real Time", its the best tool for quick recoveries.

As far as System Restore Points (To backup system files), they are really unreliable under Win10. I would not recommend it. For these issues, I would recommend a good system imaging tool. ie: Macirum Reflect as you can find here is a recommended tool. Since this looks like a business, you would have to look at a business license.

Macrium Reflect Free is now freely available to businesses (has been for quite some time).

Windows System restore points only back up Windows system files and registry settings, user files are not included.

File History covers the user files and can be configured to save your file history to a network share on a server. That would be a simple solution. It regularly backs up any files that have changed in your selected folders. By default File History backs up changes in your important user folders every hour. But you can include or exclude folders and choose a backup interval from once a day up to every 10 minutes.

Turn On or Off File History in Windows 10

A more robust method would be 3rd-party backup software. As has been pointed out, Macrium Reflect Free is licensed for both personal and commercial use and can be scheduled to run regular backups. However the free version will always back up the entire machine, including the windows system. The paid-for version has a files and folders option that can be set up to just back up your user files.

I agree with using Reflect rather than relying on restore points. I've now disabled System Restore and just rely on Reflect. I do a weekly backup but the poster can schedule a daily backup. You can easily use Reflect to restore user files / folders. Just mount the relevant partition from the Reflect image file as a virtual drive and copy / paste the files / folders you want to restore.

It's too late to consider System Restore, File History etc for files that are already gone. They (and Reflect) may protect you going forward, but you probably need to invest in a file undeletion tool (usually not free). How valuable/irreplaceable are those files - what are they? Meanwhile, limit use of the computer to reduce the risk of the files being over-written.
