    Unable to browse Macrium backup

I am running Win10/64 Home Ver. 1903 Build 18362.145 with no problems. I just discovered Macrium Reflect Ver. 7.2.4228 will not allow me to browse my backup files. I get all the proper dialogs, but when I click the C: image to browse nothing happens other than a 5 sec. window that shows the details of the backup file and then disappears.

I've used the Browse function many times before - in fact it is one of the key features I often use. But now it has stopped working. Nothing I've found by Google shows this problem so I'm wondering if there is something broken with my system. If so - how to find out what it is?

Hi - that build of MR works ok to explore an image on my 1809.

What do you see if you rt click an image file? Do you see an 'Explore Image' option?

    Have you tried-
    - reinstalling MR
    - using MR's boot disk and exploring the same image file (just for comparison- I'm assuming that's possible as I've never actually done it)?

Yes. Clicking Retore Image brings up the standard Macrium dialog/ Clicking C: results in no action.

    yes - no help there.

Saw that one - doesn't seem to be a problem.

I installed Aomei Backupper and made a full backup which completed OK. I tried their Browse function - it failed with Information Code 4125, This says to reinistall the software.

I'm thinking something got wacked in latest Win10 update.

Can you mount an iso file?

Sure can - I've got a number of DVD ISO's and they all mount fine.

    Problem found!

Turning off Windows Defender Real Time Protection allows the backup file to be mounted.

So how do I flag this as a problem with the latest Windows update?

Edit: more weirdness - now that I mounted the backup file there is no way to eject/close/unmount it.

Edit2: rebooting got rid of it

Progress.. I've asked someone else with 1903 to have a look.

Did you rt click the mounted drive but not see the option to dismount it?

From one point of view it's a MR problem- if you're a free user, not sure if you can give MR feedback.

Yes, the unmount option was not there when I right clicked on the mounted drive.
