Many attempts to make the image backup fails. Most fails said to be error on source or target. Tested both devices and found no errors. Backups to internal HD and USB HD failed. Occasionally failure mode is just stall.
I have spent days on this and am stymied and annoyed.
Otherwise I have no problems with W10 PRO operation.
Can I generate a image backup from another W10 machine and use it in mine?Thank you,

The Windows system image backup is a deprecated feature. MS recommend using 3rd party tools. The favourite of this forum is Macrium Reflect Free - see great guides in tutorial section.

I have used the W10 application as well as EASUS TODO. Same result on both. I will try the free Macrium.

May I just suggest trying a "chkdsk C:"? I've had problems with imaging utilities if they saw any difficulties on the disk, for good reason.
Windows, Acronis, Easus, Macrium reflect.
I've used all these .....Macrium is the easiest and most reliable.
