Issue : Win 10 built-in system restore has not been working for quite a while.
Question : Is MS planning to fix it at all?
Does anyone know ?
I am not interested in the "alternative" .
I just want to know if I am to forget that it ever existed?

Hi, to clarify, do you mean you can't create restore points - which does/should work - or that restoring a restore point fails (which is a common experience)?
Performing system restore to a selected date on the list.
Often system restore will not work with third party anti virus as the AV’s self protection feature interferes with the restore, you can try system restore within safe mode or drop system restore for third party imaging/backup software like Macrium Reflect.
I haven't had System Restore issues for a long time, but in the past, turning it off and back on again used to fix it for me.
Be aware that you'll lose your old restore points, but considering it's not working anyway, then I don't think it is much of a loss.
