Error 0XC000014C during boot on MBR legacy partition

    Hi,

I'm trying to recover a PC which holds important data.
the PC can't boot and gives an Errorcode 0XC000014C.
    referencing to boot

the pc can't start anymore, so i made an USB of windows 10.
using commandprompt in the installer USB i tried:
    bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot -> this gives an access denied error.

so i tried recovering it using BCD, but apparently this only works for EFI.

Are there any other possible ways to get the PC working again other than a reinstallation of windows.
for example hooking a different HDD to the pc and installing windows on there or any ways of using Windows to go on an USB.

    Error messages are often ambiguous.

    The error code: 0XC000014C
    Code:
The structure of one of the files that contains Registry data is corrupt, or the image of the file in memory is corrupt, or the file could not be recovered because the alternate copy or log was absent or corrupt.
    Many times the error message:
    Code:
    access denied
is seen when running bootrec /fixboot

The access denied was typically able to be fixed with regback.

Regback can always be tried but has not worked since Windows 1703 or 1709.

You can try running scannow using the iso in windows RE however this typically fixes operating system problems and typically does not fix registry problems.

The files often can be saved if there are no drive problems and window, drivers, and applications can be reinstalled.

In the left lower corner search > type feedback > open feedback hub > submit info about need for functioning regback.

I cant boot back into the OS, not even using something like safe mode (if it still exists).

So i dont think i can reach the feedback hub. And i dont mind the reinstallation, but the needed files will be lost.

And i forgot to mention but i had tried the bcdboot without knowing it was for EFI only.

Would it be possible to use miniTool partition wizard from USB and recover the boot volume to MBR ?

The most efficient use of time would be to save files, install windows 1809, reinstall drivers and applications.

The feedback hub can be used on any working computer.

Working on the boot does not fix registry problems.
If you want to you can make steps to fix the boot sector but you reported the error code and that indicated that there are other than just the boot sector.
