In the past, till W7, I used Acronis for years. But their license policy and slow bug handling drove me away. I now use the typical free programs: AOMEI the most with its clean interface, Macrium because its fast and EaseUS Todo as it gives the luxury of making working external USB clones of your running Windows installation. Macrium has a good bootable USB stick feature that can repair boot problems in many cases (for instance when the restore was to dissimilar hardware).
I am another Macrium Reflect user, but TeraByte Image For Windows is very reliable. So is AOMEI Backupper.
Another good one:

Besides Drive Snapshot, I also use DSYNCHRONIZE.
Amazingly easy and versitile! I think I first used it in the late 1990's. I still use it monthly. Best folder backup there is and is still getting frequent updates! Portable! Almost fits on a floppy disk!
I have and use his other apps too.
