Cannot create a Windows 10 restore point

Guys
No end to my Windows 10 woos this week!!
Downloaded and installed Macrium Reflect Home edition as suggested. On running it, I get the VSS error below. This all started when the Win 10 updates came up last week.

Help please.

OK @devdeep60, you do have some serious issues, that repair install is long overdue.

But you should still make an image first. Here is an alternative way to make the image that should work regardless of how messed up your system is because it doesn't require Windows to be running.

First, make the Macrium rescue media on a usb stick, in Macrium it's Other Tasks > Create Rescue Media...

Next, boot from the rescue media usb. You will see that it looks almost the same as running Macrium in Windows. The rescue media is not just for doing restores, it also has a Backup tab and you can use this to make your image just as you would within Windows.

Thanks a lot Bree!! Repair went smoothly. Am on 1809 now and everything works great! Macrium and Restore function works fine now.

Great news! Now (if you have not already done so) you should definitely make an image of your fully working system.

Absolutely bizzare!!!!! Windows 10 did an update on reboot and I am back to position I was earlier!! Things do not work and am going to do the image restore!

Before you do the restore, look in Update History to see precisely what the update was. I suspect the most likely culprit will something in the Driver Updates section. A windows Quality Update should not have this effect.

Too late. Have restored - so far so good. I have paused updates (until 10 April 2019 when it will auto update). Is there an option for me to see what updates are available before I take them?
