With the new drive command line can be used to check the availability of system restore points:

Open administrative powershell and copy or type and paste:
    get-computerrestorepoint

System restore points are often unavailable or don't work when you need them.
So the best option is the free or pay version using software to make backup images.

Last night, I ran Microsoft Safety Scanner to test if I could recreate the issue. In the morning when I wanted to check the results, the computer wouldn't respond to the mouse or keyboard. The screen would not wake up. Exact same problems as before. It appears something is wrong with my hardware, not the hard drive specifically. Before you ask, I am not going to try Linux/Unix.

Here they are. This time I left my surname out of the computer name. Interestingly. BitDefender didn't give me any problems this time. I didn't even need to disable it.

I noticed at various points the computer name shows up as WIN-TIUKSNGNLQG and DESKTOP-1Q70GVB.

I believe the later is the name I renamed to after Windows was done installing, but I don't know what the first is.

I also am having difficulty getting Office 2013 to run I keep getting this error message. I tried repairing both ways, but it doesn't work... I used the 64-bit setup file on the install disc instead of letting it autorun. That worked.

I also have a suspect that could be causing this freezing issue. I briefly used a Plugable bluetooth adapter to connect my Xbox One S controller to my PC. I noticed sometimes after closing a game, the system would crash. When I switched back to connecting the controller with a microUSB cable, I stopped having this issue. I leave the bluetooth adapter unplugged.

As of November or December, I have been using a Logitech G603 wireless mouse. I wonder if its proprietary wireless dongle might be doing a similar thing.

Today is 3/3 and the logs started on 3/2 so there was very little data.

    Windows fast startup failed.

There aren't going to be a ton of data as it is a new install. My presumption is that the problem is hardware related. I hypothesize it is the mouse, that is the only new piece of hardware. A second hypothesis is that my overclocking has done some permanent damage to my CPU or a related component (as it still froze when the bios was reset and it was running stock).

Next time, I leave the computer on all night with MSERT or BitDefender scanning, I will unplug my mouse. If it happens without the mouse, I can reject that first hypothesis

Fast startup has already been disabled. I generally switch off the PSU when I turn off my computer, so fast startup has never really been of use for me. That may be why it failed.

I think it might be the mouse causing the problem. I just had a very similar problem on my new laptop. I was running a long virus scan running. I was routinely checking on it and at a certain point, the screen would not wake up. Just like on the desktop before...
