    Image cloning/backup software recommendation sought


    I am looking at Acronis or Macrium. Any thoughts? Is the free version of Macrium good or should I buy one.

    I use the free Macrium. I find the free version does all I need.

    The paid for version adds a few more features, notably incremental backups (in addition to the free version's differential backups) and Image Guardian which can prevent ransomware encrypting your images. Oh, and you also qualify for support and can post on the Macrium forum.

    Macrium software and support is brilliant whereas Acronis products are poorly engineered and supported. Enough said.
