How to clone on software program?

I recently bought Win 10 desktop. Installed a unique software program from some time ago. I would like to preserve it in the state it is in now and have it cloned somehow so I recovered it later if necessary. I bought the program and modified it a little. Is is not supported by the manufacturer anymore.

Any thought on how to clone this program? Or best to clone entire C drive with Macrium or Acronis? Then would one of these allow me to just to recover the single program in the future?

    Thank you.

You can clone a whole drive/partition but not a single program with Macrium/Acronis.

However Easeus PCTrans allows backup of individual programs. The free trial version is limited to just two programs but as you only are talking about one, it should be fine.

Make full image backup and then you can experiment with PCTrans.

At first glance it appears I have to back it up to another PC with same OS as one I have. Do you know if it can be stored rather than activated on another PC?

    Thanks

Why not just make a full system backup with something like Macrium Reflect free ? Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free You can update it from time to time and for best protection put it on a removable disk kept offline until used again. If anything happens to your system or even system disk, you'd be back in business in few minutes.

Of course an image backup with Macrium is a good idea. I use Macrium Reflect for my backups.

Another option is a custom recovery partition, storing a Windows as an image which contains all your software, settings and personal data. Tutorial: Factory recovery - Create a Custom Recovery Partition | Tutorials

Given you have an image file, PC Trans Pro (and its Laplink equivalent) can use the image as source:

Thanks for all the feedback. I made an image file of the program using EaseUS PCTrans and transferred it to a folder on an external hard drive. Will make a full image of operating system using Macrium.
