Is there a way to backup Windows Store apps or games?

Games like Forza Horizon 4 take more than 3 days to download. I tried installing it on another drive besides the Windows disk, but when I switched computers, it just started downloading it all over again. Fortunately this is the only game I bought from Windows Store, but re-downloading it when I reinstall Windows is ridiculous. Is there any way to backup and restore it?

I don't know if there is a way to backup Windows Store Apps or Games (sorry about that) but I will watch this thread, as that is a very good question.

Also, more than 72 hours to download anything; I would be nagging my ISP provider for some answers to be honest about that aspect that you're pointing out.

Well, my ISP is AT&T Uverse, and the speed test said it's about 25 Mbps (3 MB/s), which is what I get on average with most downloads, like through Steam. On the MS Store, it's pitifully slow most of the time, though I have seen it get up to 4 MB/s. It's VERY inconsistent. So it's definitely on Microsoft's end.

I found a supposed "Windows Store backup" application, on a Mediafire server. Not sure about the validity of it, though, so I haven't tested it, especially because it could contain a virus for all I know.

So you're not feeling lucky huh!

Oh well, I don't blame you - but at least you reported that you found a possibility to back up the store apps. I thought because they were updated so routinely, that backing them up would be pointless; however the games would be nice to backup unless they are regularly updated as well.

I don't run any games from the store, so I wouldn't know if they are updated on a regular bases; then again I think they are because that darn Candy Crush Saga keeps nagging me to update it and I finally figured out how to get rid of it nagging me all the time.

Take a look at this, FWIW -

How to backup apps and games installed from the window store. - Microsoft Community

I wouldn't buy anything from the Windows Store or Steam, period.

I've already read through that entire thread, and that is where I found the Mediafire link.

Valve isn't going anywhere, and as far as purchasing Forza Horizon 4, I had no other alternative than the Microsoft Store (as I don't own an Xbox One and a physical copy doesn't exist for PC).
