I installed this startup monitor tool (cannot remember what's it called but it's pretty good) and after turning off a lot of things, I did notice that it cut off a few seconds off the boot time but not to a really significant degree. I am still stuck at the 29 second mark from the time it's turned on to the login boot prompt. I do have a 10 second delay when it hits the BCDEDIT multiboot prompt and then defaults to one of the 3 choices - and I was not counting that into the 29 seconds.

I think MSI laptops are loaded with proprietary junk. I am however too afraid to delete something.

this is not bad considering HDDs boot in 3-5 minutes even with all the junk removed from startup.

On the BCD option you should be able to adjust the menu display time (you can if you use EasyBCD), so as long as you aren't faffing each time cut it down to the minimum you need to make a decision, three seconds?

    Task manager/startup tab
Right click any app and there's a disable facility. You won't kill anything permanently, just suspend it from start up and all reversible.
You can order the 'startup impact' column to show you the high impact apps first.

    Get pruning...
