Well, that's interesting. I used it and my computer went nowhere - I suspect the same nowhere as when I cold boot and furiously press F2 or F8 or F11. For about 5 to 10 seconds during restart, one of my monitors shows that it has no signal; then it stops showing that, so I presume it now gets signal from the video, but all is black. Computer never shows anything, have to press reset button.
I can't understand what Macrium Reflect did to me, but so far I'm royally screwed. I used free version, so I can't get support. Would be willing to pay if it was $40 or under, but it's not.
However you guys are terrific help, we just haven't found an answer yet!
Hi,
What happens when you click on change defaults or choose other options (bottom of boot menu) > Advanced > boot from uefi? Does that get you into the bios?
Last time I saw the BIOS I made a change to CSM and pondered, but did not change some UEFI settings that had to do with video.
Reading some similar problems, I wonder if I need to use a VGA cable in order to see BIOS screens? Wouldn't you know I threw away all VGA cables about a year ago! I'm using the Intel HD4000 built-in graphics, don't even have a separate and better graphics card, so you'd think I should be OK.
Ah, I got to "UEFI firmware" or something like it by going to Settings/Update&Security/Recovery, etc. Then I asked it to boot into UEFI and basically it went to black and nothing. I believe this is the same condition as doing cold restart and then pressing F2 repeatedly - screens remain black and computer doesn't boot into Windows. I'm guessing that I'm stuck in BIOS/UEFI, but no video!
You suggest I restart computer to boot menu, but that's what my trouble is - I can't get the boot menu!
Timeout was already set to 10 seconds - still never see a choice. I tried all 4 of those checkboxes (No GUI, Boot log, etc.), but no help there.
The menu shows twoOS: Windows 10 and Macrium. At the beginning of this topic, I was unable to run Macrium when I selected it - only got black screen. Therefore, since I no longer get a choice during boot, I don't dare make Macrium my default, because then I'd never be able to reboot into Windows 10!
