Win 10 Build 1809 did NOT solve the system image problem in backup!

    The short answer is yes...

    The recovery boot menu option is for the Windows updates breaking the system. Unfortunately, this is the option that I've used the most during the last year or so, but there are alternatives...

    Images from the system with failed drive can be restored to a new drive in an other working system with Reflect. After getting the new drive, restore the image with the working system, swap the drives in the broken system and off it goes...

    If neither of the options are available, the Reflect USB rescue disk for Intel/AMD platform is handy in my laptop bag as the last result...

    I went simple, added to my boot menu and use when I can. Built and maintain Macrium boot media for a really bad day.

    I do both, mainly because the usb can also be used to image any machine that can boot from it - you don't need Macrium installed to image a PC that way.
