Does this work for you:
Macrium Software | Home Edition
Let me answer my own question.
This doesn't seem to be a perpetual license. If you want "free" upgrades to upcoming major versions, it looks like you need to be on some sort of a subscription license.
The current version 7 was first released over 2 years ago. I just looked around the Macrium support site and saw some indication that, as of late 2018, Macrium intended to release version 8 within 12 months---before the end of 2019. I have no idea if their plans have changed.
I may buy the current version 7 at 50% off regardless and worry about version 8 later if ever.
I just bought a single license for my laptop for a 50% discount and the receipt says Perpetual Licence:
Attachment 255862
Larc and Steve C:
So did I and I saw the same notice.
I know what "perpetual" means in standard English, but Macrium may (or may not) be from the Humpty Dumpty School Of Lexicography.
Turns out the paid version is of minimal use to me because the "file and folder" backup function is quite convoluted when compared to competing applications. Yeah, it "works", but that's about all I can say for it.
Maybe I can get some use out of Redeploy next time I upgrade.
I very rarely restore, so Rapid Delta Restore would mean nearly nothing to me.
And maybe it really is a perpetual license by the non-Humpty Dumpty definition. Time will tell.
I have no idea. If I had to guess, I'd guess that Larc is right when he said "it could mean I can just keep using the current version perpetually."
Macrium Reflect eula
In the eula, there is no company commitment that upgrades (=new major versions) will be offered for free.Updates & Upgrades
We may make new versions, updates, patches and fixes available over time at our discretion. We may make these available subject to additional or replacement terms and conditions. Where we make a new update, patch and/or fix available, these may be downloaded for free from our website:www.macrium.com or directly downloaded from within the software.
In other words the perpetual software license allows the holder to use a specific version of a given software program continually with payment of a single fee, i.e. initial purchase fee, whereas upgrades may or may not be provided for free in perpetuity.
In the software market, as a common practice, the upgrades under a perpetual licence agreement are always charged, usually at a discounted fee.
