Why would I use the paid vs premium? what features are missing, thanks
No reason I don't use any of the paid features. I just bought it last year to support the dev's who actually keep the program up to date and listen to feedback.

If you have ever done a restore, you will have used Rapid Delra Restore.

Look...I have nothing against people try to inform even for commercial things and I really thank them. I also have nothing against Macrium, this excellent app which I also use and send my THANKS to Paramount for that! But...
CLEARLY TenForums, especially Backup and Restore section, has been turned into a Macrium promote/sell point. We are here to help and be helped, not to promote or sell, I think...

    My Best!

Yea got my 5th license, I'll use it for my Dell Inspiration 13 7000 when it arrives next month. I too purchase to support the people that write and maintain this excellent product. @HeM sometimes a product is so superior in its field that we as a group can't help but recommend using it. Has nothing to do with promoting a product none of us has any interest in anything other than helping people that don't know about backing up to get them backing up their systems. Most of the times it comes up in a thread others, that use other programs will mention their favorite program also. BTW most of us found out about MR after a failure to restore with other image and back up software!!!

I disagree. We first always stress the importance of system image backups. The Windows built in system is a deprecated feature and MS recommend use of 3rd party tools.

The experience of this forum is OVERWHELMINGLY that Macrium Reflect is very reliable, flexible and is simply very good.

So I see no contradiction in recommending it as none of the users here have ANY COMMERCIAL AFFILIATION with Paramount.

This forum has developed a great respect for Paramount as many bugs have been fixed (often in a day or two) as a result of users (paid versions) feeding back issues to Paramount via its support mechanism.

A great example was the recent issue whereby MR failed in Insider Versions with a 'code 9" error, and this is due to a design error in the Insider Versions.

This issue was reported by a member of this forum.

Paramount issued a special fix within two days for Insiders getting this issue.

So why not promote true quality and service. IMO we ARE helping ourselves and new users seeking guidance.

Just contrast this with Acronis support and reliability as perceived by users here, and it is obvious why Trueimage is not recommended.

The backup and restore point has not been turned into a MR promote/sell point. It just reflects (pardon the pun) the experience of vast majority of users who would not recommend using other tools.

Allow me also, to say, that being enthusiastic with the functionality, reliability and very responsive support of an application, does not mean that the users/members of this forum are promoting or selling the product. When someone is asking an opinion about a backup program, everybody, speaking from his/her experience, post their opinion. The fact that a lot of people agree MR is a solid product is not called promotion, but product reliability and user acceptance!

Besides, look at it another way.... we're in a Windows 10 forum, meaning that we all in here use Microsoft Windows. We post opinions, mentioning the good and the bad of Windows. Does that mean that we're all promoting Microsoft's products?

All the best to you too!

Well, announcements like this are not in any way promotion or selling but valuable information about a product so many members use. Without it I wouldn't even know about that deal although I'm using MR for many years now. I'm also thinking of automating some backup tasks and adding network storage so payed version is necessary. As I'm poor pensioner, any deal is welcome.

    Hi folks
Nobody here is making a selling pitch in the conventional sense of the word.

There's nothing wrong IMO over people recommending a product that works, has saved many users on these and other forums probably 1000's of man hours in getting computers working again and these days provide that almost terminally endangered species - Great Customer service.

If users of this product want to mention parts that the commercial product handles and it is of value I can't see what's wrong with that either.

Although I don't myself use those particular features - the free stuff is fine for me but I like some paid the relatively small price for a commercial product to support ongoing development in a great product.

Much as I like open source and Freeware (My 2 NAS boxes run everything as totally free software with great success) there's no reason why good reliable reasonably priced commercial software shouldn't be brought to Forum members notice.

Dubious sales pitches especially from anybody who has links with a particular product are what I assume the Forum rules are there for and obviously in this case anybody with a pea sized brain could see that the post was not a sales pitch.

    Cheers

Yes it does speed things up a bit. But I use the free version on other slower computers and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to restore.
