Acronis 2018 doens't backup all my partition.

    Hi,

I have a dual boot computer with Acronis 2018 on windows 10 and Acronis 2010 on windows 7.

I mainly use windows 10 these days that has Acronis 2018 installed.
If I backup my windows 10 with Acronis 18 (within windows 10 itself) I find that there is about 14gb of my partition missing and a lot of desktop icons missing if I restore that partition. This is a full backup with no exclussions.

I can only use Acronis 2010 on windows 7 and it seems to backup the partition with windows 10 ok, so just wondering why is it that I can't backup properly with Acronis 2018 from within windows 10 itself.

Acronis 2010 has a more simple GUI that I find easier to understand than Acronis 2018 but it means restarting my computer and booting into windows 7 to use it.

I do have Macrium Reflect as well backups are find, but some trouble attempting TRIM on recovery on my SSD drive.

Opinions appreciated as to why Acronsi 2018 is not backing up my windows 10 partition totally?
    Many Thanks
    Joe

    Hello,

Thanks for reply. I have the old style BIOS, My Samsung Evo 500 SSD is divided into three partitions actually with C windows 10, D windows 7, and I do have Windows 10 on an E partition as well. So probably its really a triple boot if there is such a thing.

As stated I have Acronis 2018 on the main C partition with windows 10 and when I run Acronis 2018 within the OS environment itself that is when I am not getting the full backup of windows 10 on main C drive. However it does seem to backup Drives D and E ok.

D with windows 7 is actually the main boot drive but I do use Easybcd to modifty that at times and to select the mian default OS to boot into.

Just strange that Acronis 2018 doesn't back up the whole C partition with windows 10, maybe something to do with I am actually in the OS while backing up, I really don't know?

    Thanks a lot.
    Joe
