How To switch display modes ?

With the new version of Macrium 7.2, I'm now able via M.R. rescue boot, access my NAS box where all of the Tablets MR images reside. However when booting from the rescue media, it goes straight to "Tablet Mode". Note that my tablet (ASUS Transformer) come with a detachable key board which you can run in "Desktop Mode" or use it as a tablet, by detaching the unit from the keyboard.

Since I have to search for my NAS device and have to log in to it, I noticed that there is NO keyboard to enter the login info in "Tablet Mode". Trying to use it to navigate via "Desktop Mode" while the device is in "Tablet mode" is near impossible to position the cursor to the correct fields. I have done it, but its painful since the touchpad is 90 degrees off from where the cursor moves on the screen.

So I'm looking for a possible solution. The rescue RE boot has a command window, but does anybody know of a command to change the devices "Mode" ?, or does anybody know how to build a new RE boot disk where it uses only "Desktop Mode" ? Or any othere kind of solution you can think of.

When building the USB tick the option to check for "Unsupported Devices" to see if you need to add maybe a keyboard driver ? Or, when in WinPE have a look in Unsupported Devices menu option (Select Restore > View Unsupported Devices menu option) to see if there is anything showing there.

Also have you tried building the USB with WINPE5 instead of 10 to see if it works ?

Thanks for the reply. Yes after going thru the list of commands, you are right nothing to address this. However I don't think a keyboard driver will be a solution. What I need is the virtual keyboard that W10 keeps in the task bar. I wonder what module is in charge of that ?

When I attach the tablet to the key board, it works, but the screen is still in tablet mode ie screen in Portrait vs Landscape.

Understood. Do you think a portable Virtual Keyboard Program like the one linked below might work ? ( It is portable, so no installation is required, and you could just copy it to the Macrium USB, and when in PE, run it from command prompt or through Macrium explorer plus the keyboard is resizeable ).

That could work. I'll give it a try. But I wonder why the MS virtual keyboard isn't in the Macrium PE. I may ask them why its not there ?

Well after 4 days & Nights I have came up with a crude, but workable solution. Since all functions (except for the virtual keyboard) work just fine, after booting the rescue media, I detach the tablet, get into the network section, select my NAS device and when it asks me to login, I re-attach the tablet to the keyboard, type in the logon info hit enter and then remove the tablet portion and proceed in tablet mode. No problem I can restore from my local NAS system. I'm marking this tread as solved even though my original question was never answered.
