Good ole' Windows Updates. I was just greeted by a screen that simultaneously said

    "No updates available"

"Your device is missing important security and quality fixes".

I have to say, though, that WU is much better than it had been. Not perfect, but they've come a long way.

Yes, but the Reset will be to the Windows 10 that was installed after wiping the drive. If that was done with a download of Microsoft's install media you will have lost the OEM provisioning package when you wiped the drive. If you made a recovery drive usb before wiping the drive and used that to do a clean install, then you will have retained the OEM customisations.
Thank you for that information. I don't mind losing OEM bloat. But I suppose I would lose all the settings and programs I add post-installation. Still, it's good to know about this option, especially on a small device like this.

    THANK YOU!

There are no new cumulative updates (quality updates) for the version you are running (1803, 1709, earlier?)

"Your device is missing important security and quality fixes".

...but you are running an old version and are missing a Features Update.

You can make your own custom provisioning package for that...

...this tutorial shows you how to customise the reset and recovery drive by saving your currently installed software applications, so that they get picked up by the reset process or the next time you create a recovery drive.

Ah... I see, said the blind man.. (something my grandpa always used to say :).

But wait - it now lists Cumulative update KB 4467702.

And I just got another Low Disk Space warning (modal pop up). How on Earth did it go from 10gb of free space to 88MB at this late stage of updating? I'll see what the requested Restart does.

Sir, if this is workable you have solved the dilemma that caused me to start this thread. I can update windows, do my additions, and then provision everything for a simple Reset if a customer ever needs to do so. And all for a pittance of drive space. Thank you once again!

About the new low drive space warning - I see that WU created a new windows.old folder this morning, and it's worth 18GB! That might explain things. I guess this was done in the shift from v. 1703 to 1803.

About the windows.old observation -- that it's responsible for the reduction in free disk space -- you are absolutely correct, sir. You can clean it up and make it go away pretty easily. Assume you know now. If not, you'll find disk cleanup tutorials here at TF to show you.
