How To Find A Restore Point Prior To Those Listed

System Restore, under "Choose a different restore point", lists only two weeks ago as the oldest restore point .. but I want to restore to a date two months ago. How can I find restore points that are older than those listed?

Hi, there are limits on the restore points kept, e.g.
    1. the amount of storage you have allocated
    2. the date of the last Windows installation (SR points prior to that are, quite correctly, deleted).
This may be why you don't see earlier restore points.

We continually urge users to use disk imaging: if you periodically update your disk image set, then you can restore to any date for which you have a valid disk image of Windows.

The difference is that as the latter is a partition restoration, then data and potentially additional settings on the partitions restored are restored to the date the image was created, a big contrast to S. Restore.

System Restore is also very unreliable when restoring.

There are 3rd party programs that support restoration in a different way such as Rollback RX.

    As dalchina says...

Your older older restore points have almost certainly been deleted to make space for the newer ones.
You can adjust the maximum disk space per drive used for system protection. As space fills up, older restore points will automatically be deleted to make room for new ones.
Change System Protection Max Storage Size for Drive in Windows 10

Restore points are known to be unreliable and a restore may fail. Could this be why you are searching for even older ones? Do the current ones fail to restore?

Perhaps you could hint why you need to go back that far- what problem do you hope to address?

and if you are looking for a restore point that was created say in 1709, assuming you are on 1803, its gone. This occurs even if you dedicated a huge amount of space to the process and happens with each Feature update.

    Another vote for Disk Imaging.
