Used routinely at home, no problems/errors at all.

Backups - at least once a month (after Black Tuesday) at all home systems, plus ad hoc ones, plus some VMs
Restores - 50+ during three years (after transition from awkward CloneZilla), all successfull

    Personal oddnesses:
    - all backups are Full & made from WinPE environment (booted from flash)
    - only system partitions imaged, not data ones
    - version 6 used, no reason to use ver 7 (but I appreciate ver 7 as free for commercial use)
    - running only on trusted & reliable hardware
    - not tested with BitLocker
    - image files never verified

    Plus:
    - reliability
    - image browsing

    Minus:
    - nothing important found

    Wishlist:
    - Storage Spaces support in WinPE (I know, PE is MS product, not Macrium)
    - Web Browser integrated in WinPE by default

Agree. I even use it to find out failing hardware. Restore an older image when the hardware worked and if it still does not work then I know it is wrong.

I would give Macrium a 90-95%. I have had macrium let me down twice. I don't know if it was my fault or Macrium's fault. Macrium is my number 1 choice though. At one time AOMEI Backupper was my number 1 choice. IMHO AOMEI updates made it more complicated than it needs to be.

I trust Macrium 100% and have never had any problems with it, i use it all the time to make image back ups before making any changes to my system and especially installing and testing new programs etc because it's easy to remove them if you don't want them with a touch of the restore button and i keep a lot of backups on a portable Drive with a txt doc inside each backup folder so i know what changes or updates where made to that particular backup and i have plenty to choose from.
I have given up with the built in system restore as it always keeps failing usually with "System Restore failed while restoring the directory from the restore point Source: AppxStaging" or something similar and i have fixed it twice over the past year so i cannot trust that to work which is a pity because when it does work it's quick and simple where as Macrium takes a bit longer BUT i trust Macrium to work right every time which it has done for several years.

I agree mojo. I gave up on system restore since it failed when restoring from removing that bloated Visual Studio Community.

It would be amiss of me not to vote - I restore Linux with it as well..never let me down.

It may be noteworthy here to add that Macrium just recently issued a Hot Fix to correct a problem in MS Insider Build 18234. Not of their making, apparently a Microsoft issue. Although this does fit the Poll Question exactly, it does show Macrium is diligent in keeping the entire Backup Environment healthy. They did not have to do this.

I don't understand the question. How much do I trust them to do what? Backup and restore without ever having a bug? Never get hacked and lose my details? Comply with GDPR? Not participate in tax avoidance schemes?

I mean I use it and it has so far worked 100% of the time but so has every other backup solution I have ever used, including the built in Windows 7 backup/restore. Nothing has ever once failed. The only exception was Paragon Bootcamp Backup which, unfortunately, would not even once restore its own backups as my partitions were in a non standard order - but then I was a beta tester so I forgive them that. Not that they ever fixed it mind you.

I'll give it 75% as I use it (I know of nothing better) and they seem more responsive than your average company. Just not, you know, the second coming or whatever.
