Sysprep Reboots back into Audit mode instead of OOBE

IT, trying to create a backup image using macrium although my issues are just for sysprep,

At the moment i am just trying to figure things out, so I am installing windows 10 education on SSD (computer has a ssd and a hardrive)

then boot into windows and on the first screen comes with language, i press ctrl+shift+F3 into audit mode.
I install one program VLC Players to test, I then go into sysprep in system 32 and place two files,

    unnatend.xml

and a bath file to ''Echo off
    cd c:\windows\system32\sysprep
    sysprep /oobe /generalize /unattend:c:\windows\system32\sysprep\unattend.xml''

this then reboot striaght back into audit mode and not OOBE, not sure what I am doing wrong, have tryed a few client machines to see if this is the problem...

any help would be appreciated, been troubshooting for few days now, many thanks

Hi Whelan, welcome to Ten Forums.

First, you are making it a bit too complicated. Just copy the answer file to %windir%\System32\Sysprep folder, double click Sysprep.exe to run it, tick the Generalize box and click OK to run Sysprep:

Sysprep Reboots back into Audit mode instead of OOBE-image.png

Sysprep finds the answer file automatically from Sysprep folder, as long as its name is unattend.xml.

If you want to, we could also check that your answer file is valid. Please open it in Notepad, copy all text, and paste here within CODE tags (
Paste text here
).

    Hi Kari thankyou very much,

the unnatend file was sent to me by another entity and I assume this is not working because it has text specific to there hardware? I'm guessing i need to make one specifically for our machines? becuase when i sysprep with the answer file in the folder it reboots back into audit mode, whereas without putting in folder sysprep works fine, many thanks
