What if macrium reflect backup fail

Though it has never happened but out of curiosity, I want to know, while restoring macrium image, when we delete System Reserved and OS partition and then drop the backup image at that place and if image fail to restore, and we already deleted the System Reserved and OS partition, where will we stand now.

Corruption of any and all data is potentially possible. If a backup disk is typically offline, unpowered, used briefly its life is likely to be considerably longer than what is being backed up.

Ideally you will have a strategy in place. E.g. longer term less frequent backups on 1 medium. Shorter term, more recent on another.
So if the 2nd fails, you could resort to the first.

Or you run each backup twice, to two separate storage locations.

(You can also decide whether to verify your backup when it is written).

When creating a new differential image, it is dependent on the original base image, by definition older. It is that on which all rests. Thus one should consider how old that is. Its integrity is checked when read when a new differential image is created.

If both your system and your backups fail your only recourse is a clean install.

"...run each backup twice, to two separate storage locations..." that is precisely what I also do, because one of my two backup drives would once in a blue moon develop a logical failure, forcing a format. Once, a backup HDD began clicking, thankfully, the 2nd backup HDD worked just fine.

or backup to a RAID 1 USB or NAS enclosure with at least two physical drives in it.

I suggest more than one backup is needed. I do a scheduled full PC backup to an external drive, a scheduled system backup up to an internal HDD drive and a manual full backup to another external drive stored separately from the PC.

Everyone has given a good suggestion but I want to know that once I deleted the partition, is it mean that the particular partition gone if the restoration failed or the existing deleted partition can be recovered.

If you delete a partition and do not overwrite it, then there are many programs that offer partition recovery, including Minitool Partition Wizard:

This is just a subset of data recovery, offered by some better data recovery tools.

If a drive has important files on it and there is a Macrium backup image that has never been tested what are the steps to perform partition recovery if the drive is no longer bootable? (Windows recovery can not find the drive)
And how could you test the Macrium backup image?

I only answered 1 specific question as asked in the previous post- the question of having deleted a partition. If the user has deleted the partition, it follows the drive is most likely accessible in some manner.

what are the steps to perform partition recovery if the drive is no longer bootable?
Assuming that the drive can be 'seen' - use a bootable disk to boot the PC with the recovery software on it.

And how could you test the Macrium backup image?
    - not relevant to question as asked in post #6

In the end, not only multiple backips from Macrium Reflect minimise risk of failre, but for very robust backup strategy, some use another tool e.g. Easeus Todo as a Plan B.

However, I find MR so reliable, I do not bother.
