The Restore Points aren't "illegally" removed, each Version Upgrade and each Build will delete them because they are no longer valid for the new versions due to many changes, even though minor, will create major issues. The Registry [heart and soul of Windows] gets rewritten which the System Restore has to save anew. There is 1 point saved after the reboot required by the Upgrade or update and is valid only until then next time. It is possible to create and save your own Restore Points but to assure saving best to move to a different Folder. I use a small applet that can save but only once every 1440 minutes.

OP doesn't realize he only has a license to use Microsoft's Software. He does not actually own it.

True. In reality it's the Open Source programs that one can do a lot they want with, namely Linux and programs to run on it. Those usually are free but one can buy a CD or DVD with what they need, they then own that disc.

If Windows is somewhat irritating for Users try running an Apple Macintosh computer, can be equally or even more frustrating than Windows with their Upgrades and updates, usually at start up and have to wait before able to do anything. The newer macOS upgrades over the older Mac OS X are free but not very many programs that run on it are.

Amazing how many of you people failed to notice I already addressed the Macrium Reflect image backup as Not being a viable option for frequent backups when you have gigabytes of large files installed.

"Of course they are deleted - restore points only work on the build they are made. It makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER to retain restore points from a previous build."

Stupid argument. They give me the OPTION within 10 days of an update to rollback to the previous version - why would they also not restore the restore points that Do work with that version - Fella your not making sense.

I found a way to Stop All forced MS Updates even getting Group Policy Editor to work in Windows 10 Home Edition. No thanks to anyone here, Now all I need are my ILLEGALLY deleted Restore Points undeleted.

I don't care if you think i'm rude or not, I don't give props for Bad Advice.
Are you not listening. You get an upgrade, restore points are useless.

Re. Macrium - you have it all wrong.

Your issues all arise from the way you have setup your pc I bet.

Clever users partition their hard drive (if only one drive) so you have a lean and mean partition with OS and non portable programs. The other partition contains user data and (optionally) portable programs

This way the Macrium image of C drive is usually around 50-100 GB max. You can use differential images to backup changes since last full backup.

The other partition can be backed up using variety of tools.

The rollback mechanism does not (and NEVER has) reinstated restore points. You want to preserve things 100% - do an image backup.

You can stamp your feet as much as you like but nobody here will listen to your tantrums.

Of course, if you do not like it, feel free to use Feedback Hub and post a link here and if anybody agrees with you they can add their support.

You surely accepted the terms of use, when you installed Windows or created a new user account?

RollBack Home Edition or AOMEI Backupper Standard, are good alternatives to system restore.

It's a brand new 1000 dollar gaming machine.
    - so suggest you spend a bit more, get a Pro license and have more control over the upgrades you detest.

Only Bill Gates owns Windows. That is what my cousin says.

Nah, he only owns about 20% or less of it. But several years ago he did own part of Apple.
