Macrium Reflect image names.

Really? What do you call this....

I have so many different machines to image that I want the machine's name (and the date) as the name of the Full image. So I untick the 'use the image ID as the file name' box, use a name in the form 'Machine-name_YYYY-MM-DD' then save this as the machine's backup definition file. Then if I make a Full image Macrium adds -00-00 to the end of my custom name. Subsequent Diferentials/Incrementals get -00-01, -00-02, etc.

Then for a new Full image I just edit the backup definition file to change the date.

Exactly, @Bree and @cjsacksteder. That is the purpose of giving the user the option to manage the naming convention. That option, along with user comments in the image file (entered at backup time and retained if desired) give all the flexibility needed. The name you may choose is , of course, visible, and the comments are easily displayed by looking at the properties of the image file using the Macrium Reflect tab.
