hey guys, look at this link, this problem might be because of tune up turbo mode programs or kaspersky bug, mine was because of kaspersky bug
https://rjcuk.blogspot.ca/2016/09/ka...-tool-bug.html
Okay I just had this same issue. Out of no I went to do a Macrium backup and it failed right away first time ever. I then just loaded system restore with the same error. Looked up useless solutions which did not work, ran that useless sfc /scannow "no issues yea right" so I restored my Macrium image from Nov 2nd and it was working again.
The only annoying thing is I had to update a few programs and fix my network printer again but thanks to Macrium and a big to useless Google telling me that TuneUp Utlities which I have not used in a decade was causing it telling me to install there junk ware driver updater. Then linking me to here. Now because of Macrium every thing is working fine. Just always make sure you keep at least 10 image backups as I only had to go back to the 2nd to fix it.
If you mean you tried to create a disk image and that failed, you should take note of the error message. A CRC failure probably means your disk is failing.I went to do a Macrium backup and it failed right away first time ever.
If you in fact mean a restore failed, again, consider the error message, and act as appropriate.
- as I suggested, the error message could indicate some sort of repair is needed, so worth taking note of.tried to create a disk image it failed
System Restore is notoriously problematic restoring, and often fails, unfortunately, even if started off line or from Safe Mode.
It wasn't Macrium that failed, rather it was Windows, specifically VSS, that failed. Macrium requires VSS to be working, without it an image cannot be made. Now you've restored a working image that shouldn't be a problem.

Still would like to know how it just randomly failed. Really if it was not for Macrium and there restores which I have done many times I would have switched over to a Mac or Linux. Windows especially 10 corrupts too easily.
I am also tired of these useless boilerplate answers I got when googling saying run "sfc /scannow" and checkdisk. The only solution that seems to fix this is is to do an in place upgrade.
