    True. I've used it for years and learned to avoid it's little 'quirks' that can make a restore fail - but none of them are obvious. Microsoft said a year ago that you should use something else...

    Macrium Reflect (Free) is a good one to try.

    Good afternoon I would like to backup Windows, everything on C drive to my external drive, I have not heard of Macrium Reflect but I see suggestions for its use so will this software work with Windows 10 pro x64 ? , thank you in advance.

    Yes Macrium will work on Windows 10 x64. I use Macrium and I have Windows 10 x64. I would suggest you take a few minutes to read through this tutorial to better understand Macrium:

    Great that you've noted the value of disk imaging.

    Please note that Windows 10 consists of more than 1 partition - 4 for EFI.
    If you click the button on the left, all the relevant partitions should be selected automatically.

    You can of course image any disk or partition or combination thereof.
