Can anyone help me with some info about a WD Elements please?

I have a WD Elements external drive which I use for back ups. I am trying to discover how to reset it so as to clear out all the old back up's and make space for new one's. Unfortunately I have lost the user manual.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

I am now using a Seagate external drive for system image backup, but I used to have a WD.
I am wondering what if you...….
Connect your WD > go to My PC > right click at the WD drive > Open...…………..
Would you see your backup folder ?
If yes, right click to it > click Delete.

That's what I did to delete the folder when the computer from which the backup was created was no longer in use.

@RonBin79, what are you using to make your backups? Windows own 'Backup & Restore (Windows 7)?
If so, it has an option to manage the space being used.

Manage Space for Windows Backup in Windows 10

Or are you using the external drive as a File History folder? If so, you can manage how long the backups are kept for.

Change how Long to Keep File History in Windows 10

Other backup solutions should have similar options.

Seagate makes excellent external drives. I have 6-7 of them and some are 3-4 years old and still humming with never an error. They seem to have higher-end controllers and are faster than WD, least here.

Thanks for that Dick. I have deleted over 96 files and the drive is now empty. How do I start it taking back ups again pleae? I see the white light is continually on so can I assume it is now taking in a back up??

What software or procedure are you using to create your backups? Is it software that came with the WD drive, or Windows Backup or some other app? This is important.
