    Hi Dick,
Just a quick question. When doing a back up you go to "Back up Definition > Monday 5pm > Run > Now > Full. How do you identify that back up, do you give it a title, or do you just use repeatedly "Monday 5pm" Please? The last one I did, I never gave it any identification.

    Hope all is well,

    Ron....

"Monday 5pm" is simply the name of the file that defines what/how/when/where you do your backup. It never changes, unless you rename it. Always the same.

The backup images themselves are automatically assigned a unique ID (name) by the Macrium software. Nothing you need to do. In your definition file, you will see this. It tells Macrium to make a unique ID and use it.

All pictures here are from my machine as examples only.

Example of my folder of backup images:

If you look on your external drive where you create your backup images, you will see similar.

    You are doing it correctly.

    Hope that helps. Dick....

Ron, I'm not sure at all why you are trying to create a new definition backup file.

You already have the definition file. It's call "Monday 5PM" something. Why aren't you using that? Remember all the instructions to just right-click it and click "Run", then "Full"? That's all you need to do. Just like before. No need I am aware of for having to make a new definition file. If there is, please explain.

    @RonBin79

Follow the instructions in post # 411, they are what you used before to make the back ups.
No need to change a thing.

Here is a link to it :

Thank you for your replies, all is well, after tearing the room apart, I found the instructions you gave me Dick a while ago. Sorry to have bothered you but thanks anyway for getting in touch. Nice to know you are still there.

    Kind regards,

Glad to hear you found your cheat-sheet! Sorry, not laughing at you, Ron..... but I can just envision you dumping every drawer and every box you could find! Under the cushions, behind the desk, pants pockets of everything!! With the Mrs. giving you a look like you just went bonkers!

Tape a copy of the instructions to the cabinet door where you keep the wee-dram.

    Take care, Dick......

Well, I must confess, I got both my ears bent and reprimanded for spending so much confusion and uproar. I have the instructions stuck to the side of the computer Backup Definition>monday5pm>right click>run>now. Is it necessary to have the back verified or is it something you can skip? It's wonderful here now, pouring with rain all day and 12 degrees c. Nearly time for a wee dram. You take care, Ron

Short answer. Verify can be skipped. Not recommended. Depends on how much faith you have that Murphy will never show up. The debates on this are endless, so I won't encourage another.

I verify mine, always. Enjoy your wee dram........
