Sorry, Ron. Tied up with system work. Clayton's WD drives are good. I've always been partial to Seagate drives. They are a bit more rugged. Either is fine for your use. Here is a link to what I used. The UK flavor!!

Thanks Dick. I don't know whether my current is a 1 or 2TB, there is nothing showing to indicate.
    Will catch up tomorrow. Cheers,

    Help with Elements

Can't find "My PC" , seems to be hiding somewhere however, I have discovered it has 2000.36 GB which as I understand makes a 2TB. I will keep it for now but get a replacement for my pictures and other data rarely used. I will find something easy to use so I won't be bothering you, which I am sure will make you a happy bunny.

    Cheers,
    Ron

One thing about computing is its preciseness but Microsoft has a propensity in renaming things, sometimes have to look around to find a similarity.

As for "I have discovered it has 2000.36 GB which as I understand makes a 2TB", it is true that is a 2TB drive. If one is into math it's all about 1024 and multiplies thereof. It probably is formatted as NTFS, however I have a 4TB drive attached that came from the factory formatted as exFAT, could make a difference in some programs accessing it.

If one is into HDD manufacturing its all about 1000 and multiplies thereof - looks bigger on the glossy ads

My fault, Ron. I use those terms - My PC, This PC, interchangeably. Apologies. Not sure why you would say that. If I ever said something to offend you, I apologize.

    Help with WD Elements

    Good morning Dick,
I am sorry if my previous comments lead you to believe you had offended me, not at all! I was concerned that I was taking up too much of your time when there were others who needed your help and you had things to do for yourself. It is me who feels embarrassed now and am very sorry I caused you to have such thoughts. I enjoy and appreciate our sessions. My WD Elements would still have been lying in a drawer if you had not came and helped me. I am very sorry if my twisted humour has caused you to think I was offended, which was not the case, and very sorry if I caused you to think so, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you and appreciation what you have done for me and hope, though miles away, we can carry on what I think is our friendship.

    Kindest regards and best wishes,
    Ron

    Help with Elements

    Hi Dick,
Just a quick question. When doing a back up you go to "Back up Definition > Monday 5pm > Run > Now > Full. How do you identify that back up, do you give it a title, or do you just use repeatedly "Monday 5pm" Please? The last one I did, I never gave it any identification.

    Hope all is well,

    RonB79 now 86 ugh!
