    WD Elements

Tom, please have a look at the attachments. I opened Cupture2 and got a list as you see but when opened Documents I only got one file? I am beginning to think I should buy a Toshiba 2T byte and use that for back up's as I don't seem to have the savy for Macrium. When I opened Documents, I expected to see all the Docs I had backed up, I just understand it sorry to say.
    Cheers for now,
    Ron

Ron....this may take you a couple of minutes, but please post page-by-page pictures of your Backup Definition File. I need to see them. I do not understand why you have multiple Macrium Image Files showing in My PC. It's like you mounted every backup image you have. I need to see, excactly, how you did the backup.

On the Toshiba 2T byte.... the physical drive...the brand, capacity (to some extent), have no bearing at all on Macrium functions. None. That part of your post I do not understand.

You see, this is the problem, I don't even know what a Back up Definition File is. I have been in touch with Macrium and they are going to have a look at my computer on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Apparently they will be taking over command of my computer so, whoever does it will certainly be in for a fright when he/she see's the mess I hve made of it all.

Good luck with your Macrium on-line event. Some reading for you prior to them taking control of your machine. So you will have some idea of what they are doing.

Please don't think I am not grateful for your help because I am. I disappeared just now because I was in the middle of changing my inks in the printer. I took the blue one out and it left a trail of blue ink right across the carpet. My social and domestic manageress was not at all amused. I am quite happy to continue with what you were about to start but as I said, I don't know which files are which. If you want to have a go, please say so?? I will open the links you have kindly sent and print them so I can read and try to digest.

    Cheers,

Ron, according to the pics you posted, it appears you have mounted (opened) every image backup you have done, and left them open. You need to right-click any you are not looking at and dismount/eject.

Second. Did you buy the paid versions of Macrium? I'm wondering because you have them scheduled to get into your machine. I don't think that type of support is available with the free version.

Tom, I have been sitting here reading "How to create a disk image" Fine but... it starts off by saying "Start Reflect" and Create a backup image"? Where do I find Backup Tasks? Do I have to go the Macrium Reflect web site and start from there? This is the sort of problem I keep coming up against. No doubt once I have found Back UIP Tasks I would be able to follow the instructions but how to find the start point is a bit of a devil. Almost like trying to decode a message!
