This is the very first screen that comes up after you start the program. Except for the disk drives, yours should look the same. Version 7.1.3317

    WD Elements

One thing about this is I am learning,,,,, I have now started, well I think I have started to format a R/WR disc and am about to copy a backup to the disc. It's all very exciting because I don't know for sure if that is what I am dong or not. I think I will go into the Macrium web site and download all of their up to date tutorials once I have had a look at them all to see if they are what I want.
    Cheers,

    Ron

Good luck, Ron. Your definition file does not look complete. It seems to be missing the recovery partition. Usually, there are at least 3 partitions needed for a backup and successful restore. And based on the space free on that C drive, with compression, you will need approximately 27 DVDs. You may want to read all the tutorials, again, fully, and in detail. Don't skip over parts that you think don't pertain. Read all of it, then decide which parts pertain.

It might be a good idea if you posted a fresh pic of your Disk Management screen. Fully expanded, not the shrunken display.

That's the version from May 3rd. It just hasn't been updated yet. It's fine. Functions for you are the same. Little Globe up top of the screen. Click it and it will check for updates.

Post a pic of what your very first screen looks like, right after you start the program.

That looks correct. The WD drive has garbage on it now because of your attempt to clone your SSD to it. It needs to be formatted. Go to My PC, right click the WD drive, select Format, and follow the prompts. Do not change any defaults. Do as it says. It will then be empty and show full capacity in Disk Management. Create a new folder in the WD drive called "Ron Macrium Backup"

Click the area I have pointed to with the green arrow, it will select the 3 partitions I have highlighted. Choose the WD drive and the folder "Ron Macrium Backup" as the destination drive. For now, leave all other defaults as they are. You have a lot of data on that C: partition, so it will create a large backup image, approximately 128GB with compression.

The fine tuning of the Definition File can come later. Right now, I just want to see it create an image without failing. Expect a lengthy backup..... 20-30 minutes.

Why so much data is a totally different questions and thread, to be addressed later.
