I'll chime in here Ron, I've got two of the WD 2TB Elements and for me they're great.

You're welcome. And thanks to this thread and another similar thread I've learned so much about MR and Imaging and Backup routines. In fact I just finished my third Image in as many days.

They're the 2 TB Version of these https://www.wdc.com/products/externa...LG0020HBK-NESN LOL, bought both of them off eBay. There's no prep work or anything like that. Just plug and play. Operates like a USB Stick.

    Help with WD Elements

    Hi Dick,

I want to get an up to date Elements unit and have seen a 2TB USB 2 for sale. It doesn't give any name on the advert. I don't have a USB 3 but a 2 will do me fine. I am not interested in speed. Can you please recommend one you think will do my needs please?

    Cheers,

    Ron

Again, I'll chime in here. The Elements units are compatible with USB 2 or 3. Mine run on two of the USB Ports on the back of my Desktop.
