    Hi Try3,
I am ashamed to say I have never, ever set up an administrator. since my 1st commodore 32Kb set up with dongles, m.s.3.1/2 in 1980/1 using Wordcraft with 5inch double disk drives for a maximum of 3 pages of A4 and a Qume sprint 5 Printer with KSR keyboard. I just buy, click and go. - I Know I should, but I have too much to remember already. I will have to think of something that will not leave my son in a mess should I not wake up one day being 79. He is severely autistic and has no meaningful language except Tom & Jerry and the Simpsons language. etc.

    Yes, you have.
    - The user account that was set up when Windows was installed, just for example, is set up as an Admin account.
    - Even if Windows was preinstalled by the computer maker, you were forced to set up a user account when you first turned the computer on. That account is an Admin account.

Once you have put a password on your Admin account and written it down somewhere secure, you can make your son's user account into a standard-level one so he cannot uninstall applications that affect other computer users.
[Actually, I always make 2 Admin accounts & I write both their passwords down. I use one of them routinely and save the other for the day that I discover that the first one has become corrupted.]

I would also urge you to follow the guidance of the other posters and make regular system images so that you can recover from all manner of software foul-ups.

My big problem in restoring my son's computer should be simple, having down loaded epson scan with the correct version and the correct epson printer driver for his Epson Stylus SX425W with the help of epson Chat. I am told I have a Windows 10 Problem, I will put it on the tenforum to seek advice.
