I'm retired on fixed income. I guess I'm looking for a diamond in the rough. The only thing I was wasting was my time. I was immediately reimbursed for all of the defective thumb drives. But I guess your right. I just ordered my second thumb drive from SanDisk. The first worked fine. If this works okay, then I'll purchase another for a second backup. But thanks everyone for your quick replies. Much appreciated.

"You only require one good thumb drive..." Normally, that is absolutely true; however, let me quote my earlier post:
"If you do get your good idea working -- make sure you use two, twin, USB flash drives! I have had one of two fail without warning during backup / restore operations. Again, use two, twin, USB flash drives, one right after the other every time you do a backup..." -- a backup of the backup in short.

In addition, I perfectly understand fixed income, low income, and so on! I've been there, and am still there somewhat. The reason I recommend two twin flash drives is...see above earlier comment about flash drive failure.
