Can the useless System Restore be removed from Windows 10?

I am wondering as System Restore is useless. When you need it to work it fails to restore. I am wondering like I did with Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer if it is possible to remove System Restore. I use Macrium Reflect Home which is much more reliable and saved me more times from having to reinstall Windows that I can count.

    Hello Tony,

You can't remove the System Protection feature, but you can turn it off, or disable it to make sure it stays off.

WMP is just a program so it can be removed, System Restore is a Windows function and can only be turned off.

You could install Rollback RX Home which is free, it's a much much better alternative to Windows crappy (and pity) system restore which also doesn't restore everything.
This program will automatically disable system restore, you also need to disable defrag (also check if it has a scheduled task) as Rollback RX Home uses its own defragger.

Regarding deleting system restore, you only can disable it so saved files will be deleted and you get some space back.

Thanks I disabled it. However will VSSC still work as it is needed for Macrium Reflect?
