Do to a bad install to windows10 version 1803, I had to revert back to the factory default - windows version 1607.
How do I go about updating windows to bring it up to date. Should I allow the version 1803 to install again?

I would do it this way: Download the ISO from Microsoft to your desktop (either option 1 or 3 here):
Download Windows 10 ISO File | Windows 10 Tutorials
Then mount the ISO and run setup.exe from within the 1607 OS (watch the video here):

That should be the easiest, safest way to get back to 1803. Then, start making regular images to an external drive with Macrium Reflect Free, so you can just restore an image when things go south.

Thank You for this information. My computer is working again. I had a backup with Macrium Reflect but no rescue disk.
