    easeus todo backup free

I was using v.10.5 and tried to restore to a backup image and got a error message but the thing is I checked the image right after I made it and it told me everything was fine. So I reinstalled windows 10 and tried again and this time it tells me not enough unallocated space on target disk even though I have 100 gb of unallocated space available. What a pain in the butt I need this image backup because I don't want to have to reinstall all my programs all over again. I thought everything was fine with my backup images and now this crap to put up with. I just don't know how to get this image to work.

Also another wield thing is I have no recovery for windows 10. It shows I have a healthy recovery partition but if I restart my Toshiba laptop and press 0 it doesn't go into recovery mode it just loads windows 10. I had to use a windows 10 iso to recover

The restore image is compressed. How big is it?

Either you image backup is corrupted (14GB is quite small) or you are not doing it correctly. Normally, it is a good idea to delete all existing partitions when restoring an image.

Re. Windows 10 Recovery, it sounds like you have upgraded from 7/8 and deleted vendor recovery partition. These rarely work any way after an upgrade.

14GB image for an MR image would make me check out the MR image in a hurry -- something must have gone wrong during the backup process; I guess that concept applies to EaseUS also.

I recently had a similar issue. No problem performing a file restore, but was never successful with a system restore. After hours of trying different things with different versions of my system backups, I kept receiving the same message, "Not enough unallocated space on target disk" in spite of completely deleting my C partition leaving 230 GB of unallocated space on a 250GB SSD drive. Bottom line, DO NOT rely on ToDo Backup software to save you from a corrupt operating system. I finally had to bite the bullet and downloaded/installed a fresh copy of Windows from the MS Media Creation Tool web site. So after one week and a lot of manual rebuilding, my PC is finally back to normal. This is unacceptable! I plan on trying AOMEI backup software as an alternative.

    Welcome to Ten Forums letel.

Macrium Reflect Free is used and recommended by many Ten Forums members (including me). I'd try that first, never let me down.

How much do you trust Macrium Reflect?

I take issue with telling someone that 14Gb is a warning sign, It really depends on the source for the image. My images are 7Gb for a fresh Win10 Pro install, 11Gb for one with programs installed (including VS2019). I have checked the images by mounting them, I can restore individual files/ folders with content and can restore from the images (just did that from the latest 11Gb image).
Before assuming the images are corrupt, I would check whether the application install is corrupt (sometimes Windows update or other Apps can change files relied on by other Apps), I would also see if you can mount the images and check the contents, I don't know if ToDo allows this, I know Macrium does. Also check the image storage device for validity.
After all that it is possible the images are corrupt, but then I would look into why? Maybe there is an issue with your Windows setup, have you got other backups on other devices (file/ folder backups done with drag and drop copy), have you checked those?

My smallest Macrium image is a 6.5GB image for a machine with x86 1903 + LibreOffice, Firefox, VLC and a few other apps. If you have W10 Pro then the ultimate test of 'completeness' for a Macrium image is to use Macrium viBoot to run the image as a Hyper-V virtual machine.
