It depends how different the hardware is. You might need to use universal restore, but not necessarily.
The hardware in my laptop is completely different from the one in my desktop, as I mentioned previously

It depends on what way it is different. Most hardware changes win10 can cope with, some it can't.

You should just do it. @SIW2 is most probably the most experienced person on this forum when it comes to PE and so forth.

Getting a weird message everytime i try to start aomei backupper. "The current edition doesn't support to create a portable version. If you want to use a portable version of the program, please choose Technician Plus Edition." Googling the issue didn't help much. Any ideas?

You need to buy the Technician Plus Edition to accomplish that.

No idea tbh. When you say you are trying to start AOMEI I assume you mean to run it within Windows.

    The user manual mentions:

Q: Why need to register again when running the portable version of AOMEI Backupper Technician that has been registered already?

A: The possible reason is that other edition of AOMEI Backupper has been installed in the current system. Two different editions cannot coexist in a system.

You will get that message if you try to run the winpe files from within windows.

    Make sure you are running
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI Backupper\Backupper.exe"

    NOT
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI Backupper\Winpe64\Backupper.exe"
