(c:) (MIssing)
Can anyone tell me what (C:) (MIssing) in the image is? And where did it come from?
I suspect it is the result of a Clone operation of the C drive.

I suspect it is the result of a Clone operation of the C drive.
Press the Win key+X and choose Disk Management and post a screen shot of that.
Please select the (C) (Missing) Drive and select the button to configure the settings for this drive in the System Protection tab. Select the Radio Button to Disable System Protection for this (spurious) drive.
The (C) (Missing) item on the list of drives will then disappear.
Here is the image of Disk Management

Befort I turn off protection for this drive I will image the drive this weekend.
I'm concerned I'll lose something once I turn protection off.
Thanks for your reply.
According to the images the first shows the (C:) (MIssing) as a Folder, not a drive or partition on a drive. And the second doesn't show any correlation.
For those who stumble upon this thread.
I had the same issue.
The answer to the question: Where did it come from?
It was recorded on Lenovo Machines (which I have), and this is what Lenovo said inpart:
The following configurations may be affected by this symptom:
ThinkCentreThinkPadThinkStation
Affected SystemsAll
Operating SystemsMicrosoft Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10
It can be remedied by following the steps in #2 above.
To add: I the TURNED original C: drive (system) from OFF to ON.
An individual tested SSDs and HDDs with this issue.
The images and results can be found on this URL, from microsoft's answer site:

Last time I updated my computer, it did the same thing; but I can assure you, your computer is fine, just turn off system protection for that C: (Missing) drive, and that erroneous entry will vanish; then just turn on system protection for your actual C:\ drive, and everything will be fine.
