    What is coinhive?


    Something has started popping up when I use Google Chrome.

    What is "Coinhive"? and how do I get rid of it??

    What are you using for an AV product?

    Have you scanned with MalwareBytes available at Malwarebytes.com

    Yes, I believe it's malware.

    I would also clear all my browsing data. Click on three dots upper right, hover over "More tools", click on Clear browsing data. Know your passwords as cookies should be reset.

    It looks like a Cryptocurrency web mining cookie,
    Because it can affect all browsers, your best bet is a modified HOST file because this will not affect your computer in any way by needing a browser extension for example.

    Open your HOSTS file(with Notepad): C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
    and paste the following lints in, then save.
