Kaspersky total security 2018 seem causing BSOD on my PC

My PC recently often occur BSOD "Kmode exception not handled", which is after installing KTS 2018. Now BSOD doesn't occur again after going back to KTS 2017. However, I am not sure if bsod will occur again later. My question is that , can antivirus cause BSOD? But it seems that antivirus is not hardware related.

Sure it can and The KGB can as well--Just Joking.. Serious it can any AV can. The majority of BSOD's are caused by software or drivers.

From where does this come from?

Kmode_exception_not_handled, a kernel mode routine that has illegal or improper instructions that the exception handler of Windows can't catch.

KTS does install various drivers which might be causing problems for you. I suggest you make a support request to Kaspersky who are usually good in sorting out problems.

I have some concerns but Barclays who provide free Kaspersky antivirus software say they are aware of the issues and continue to recommend their software.

I can trust it to find the NSA sponsored malware out there. Look between the lines and the hysteria, and it'll become clearer what the agenda is for those dirtying Kaspersky's name. Not that I trust them 100%, just as I don't trust any software 100%, but I do have a higher regard for them than most security software out there.

Many other better programs that have no controversy

Because I think it's one of the best AV out there and I also feel that the other AV companies are just as complicit with their respective governments/security agencies as is being claimed about Kaspersky. As I said, the controversy is dubious, fits an agenda and seems to be more about Kaspersky not whitelisting and previously exposing NSA sponsored malware.

BTW, do you trust your Chinese made hardware?

Anyway, as this is wildly off-topic, I'll move on.

The better AV the more likely it will cause BSOD, because of all the features, I prefer free AVs for this reason.

Since you are using KIS, you better contact their support to solve this.

Can not believe that people believe something without a single shred of evidence.
