Well got it switched over, Working well so far it seems, so gonna stick with it, then might convert the other Desktops after checking it out on this system. Other Desktop is an HP P6-2133W based system, WIndows 10 Pro, and low spec Intel Atom Acer Revo With WIndows 7 Sp1

PUA protection works for all Defender versions when you use the .reg workaround. I don't like it that much because it tends to be too picky and throws a lot of false positives, imho. It's a good added layer of security though, for those not very tech-savvy users.
Can't say I've seen that. I've only seen one positive and that was correct. I tested it on Home with an install package I'd downloaded (but not used) years ago. Apart from that I've not seen any other detections (perhaps I don't visit the right sort of sites :)).
Malwarebytes is going down the drain since version 3. As for Windows Defender, you either love it or hate it.
As for free AV, there are many options: you can start with Avast Free, Kaspersky Free or Panda Cloud.
As for an free on-demand scanner, Emsisoft Emergency Kit and Hitman Pro will do.
Yes. Some got excited because of news articles, but it can never happen again. Avast made of sure of that.
