    inquiry on the SYSKEY feature


    ive never bothered to study about syskey until recently.. is it better to save the program onto flash drive? my pc was hijacked last year where a malicious program took control over it..so thats what got me thinking..

    Syskey will be removed in version 1709, it is not recommended to use it anymore. From Wikipedia:

    Syskey utility will be removed in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Windows Server "RS3" due to its weak cryptography and ransomware scams risks. Microsoft recommends BitLocker as replacement.

DVD drive inquiry in Drivers and Hardware
When the monitor goes to sleep and the W10 machine is idle, the DVD drive has an inquiry/check about every 3 minutes. (Drive light comes on, can hear it cycle) No disc in drive. Is this normal?
