    I would do an sfc for sure , but no plans to redo windows upgrade , i am glad mine survived from this one , i am still trying to figure how to deal in case of any system crash / boot loop with windows since my laptop is UEFI and everything is managed from windows itself so i am wondering what happens if i am locked out .
    Second is Defender's Firewall the very same Windows Firewall or is it a specific component of Defender ?

    The Firewall is a separate piece of software
    Get a copy of Macrium Reflect and Image your Laptop to an external drive. It is free and it is the best of it's kind.
