    is ADWcleaner included in Malwarebytes.

    Hello.

I recently noticed that Malwarebytes obtained ADWcleaner is it included now in Malwarebytes premium which I have running on my PC or do I still need to run it separately?

    Thanks

No it isn’t included in MBAM so yes you need to run it seperately. :)

Aha, thanks Bastet that explains why when I ran it this morning it found some adware pups.

I guess the most important reason that it is separate, is the fact that ADWCleaner will want to reboot to fully clean the bad guys out. Not real graceful if it were included in a real-time product like MBAM. Hence, separate. :)

I thought AdwCleaner is separate because it's a standalone scanner that requires no installation, whereas MBAM requires a full install before you can use it. A heavily infested machine may block installing MBAM, but AdwCleaner can be downloaded to a USB using a clean machine then run from the USB to clean up the dirty one.

    Thanks gents.
I thought as I have Malwarebytes Premium and MBAM has obtained ADWcleaner it would be part of the Premium product but now I know it's not.
I like how Bree explains it as I can use it as my "silent assassin" via my usb to clean up my PC, not that I expect to have a HEAVILY INFECTED MACHINE never ever. Yeah right, never say never.

You might like to add Bleeping Computer's RKill to your 'assassin's toolkit'...

Rkill searches for and stops known malware processes. It doesn't clean the system, the processes will start again if you reboot. Its purpose it to kill any processes that would try to block you from running your cleaners.
