May fool with this again after this Update finishes.

Orphans is a good word. And NO I have no intentions of using Avast. Another episode like this and I will quit CCleaner too.

Clayton, I know this has irked you, understandably, but no reason to quit CCleaner, And the removal tool is quite safe. I've used it in the past. When the dust settles, have another look. TC

I did uncheck the box and clicked the "Not Right Now Button" only to come back in 10 minutes to find the install completing. Yea that irks me.

Given time for this burr to get out from under my saddle I'll keep CCLeaner.

ProgramData's data are used to store some config, logs and stuff like that, it is usually left in case of a reinstall. It is safe to remove. WinSxS files are left to avoid problems. You should not touch those.

Clean Up System Files feature removes only those files in the WinSxS folder that it determines are no longer needed by the system. As a result, you may find that a lot of files have been removed from your system—or that very few files have been removed from your system. It all depends on how many files Windows deems are necessary.

I was on line with Bank Of America and checked the chat button and MBAM notified me of trojen.nyetya. It was quarantined and later removed. That is when I thought I would have CCleaner have a go at it, was notified of an update. It went without issue, and AVAST was not an option. The update was labeled important changes so I wondered why. Read this: CCleaner compromised: better check your PC - gHacks Tech News.

It always pays to do a custom install when your installing files so you can uncheck any unwanted "features".
